20 Years STRONG

For 20 years, Boyle Street Education Centre has been a place of support, growth, and opportunity for young people.

Built on community, compassion, and resilience, BSEC continues to empower students to move forward, overcome challenges, and find their path — proving that with the right support, there is always a way forward.

“It’s really about bringing us together with the community, to be hand-in-hand, as we walk together in reconciliation,” says Christie Pace, EPS Indigenous Relations Advisor.

Hand in Hand
A Step towards Reconciliation

To honour the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, the Edmonton Police Service held a special event with Boyle Street Education Centre (BSEC).

With over 90% of its students being Indigenous, BSEC integrates cultural teachings with essential services.

Students, staff, and police officers, reflected on the impact of the residential school system, made crafts, and took part in fun activities, like three-on-three basketball and a dunk-a-cop tank.

“I would love for the students and school to just walk away feeling they can have a relationship with the Edmonton Police. That is really one of the things I hope we can achieve going forward.”

A big thank you to all the volunteers who helped make this day such a success.
